Sidewalks

Am I responsible for removing snow and ice from the sidewalk once it's constructed?

Yes. Per Hudson Codified Ordinance 660.05, owners shall keep sidewalks, curbs, and gutters in repair and free from snow, ice, or any other nuisance, and to remove all snow and ice accumulated within a reasonable time, which will ordinarily not exceed 12 hours after any storm during which the snow and ice has accumulated.

What if I have a private irrigation system or underground dog fence within the City right-of-way? Will I need to relocate it?

Yes. The City will send out a letter in advance of the project bidding to notify residents who will need to relocate their private irrigation and dog fences prior to construction.

Will I have to pay for construction of the Lake Forest sidewalk project?

No. There is no cost to you. The City is paying for the installation of the Lake Forest Drive Sidewalk Project.

Will I still receive packages, deliveries, and US Mail Service during construction?

Yes. The contractor must provide access to these services during the construction of the project. Except for when a driveway is being constructed, the owner should notify the City of any large deliveries one day in advance of delivery.

Will I still receive trash pickup services during construction?

Yes. The contractor must provide access to this service during the construction of the project.

Will access to my driveway be disrupted?

Yes. The contractor will provide advanced 24-hour notice for any driveway that will be out of service and non-accessible. The contractor will be required to provide a parking location for two vehicles for up to 10 hours of closing the driveway, at each property. If the driveway cannot be opened within 10 hours to vehicle traffic, the contractor must provide parking for vehicles, but no longer than 24 hours.

Who do I call if I have an issue?

The City will provide a 24-hour contact number from the contractor doing the work at the start of construction. You can also call the Hudson Engineering Department during office hours at (330) 342-1770.

What if I have a private fence, boulders, private walk, or landscaping within the City right-of-way? Will I need to relocate it?

Yes. The above items or any items in the public right-of-way will need to be relocated prior to construction.
