Project Description

In 2018, the City received a federal grant administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to fund the South Main Street Widening project. The project is needed to improve the safety of the corridor by reducing the vehicle crashes, improve traffic delays, and improve pedestrian and ADA access. The road widening improvement are along SR 91 (S. Main Street) from Barlow Road to the Stoney Hill Drive intersection. The project includes:

  • SR 91 will be widened to accommodate a center two-way left-turn lane throughout the project area.
  • SR 91 will be resurfaced throughout the length of the project limits.
  • 5-foot bike lanes will be constructed on the east and west side of SR 91.
  • Sidewalks will be constructed on the east and west side of SR 91.

The exhibit below shows the preliminary design of the improvements. The new roadway section will consist of three 11ft -foot-wide lanes (2 through lanes and one center turn lane), 5-foot on-street bike lanes on each side, and a 5-foot concrete walk on each side of the road.


Project Funding

The Ohio Department of Transportation and the City of Hudson are sharing the cost for the design and construction of the project.
