FAQs
Is the Walk & Bike Plan the same as the Connectivity Master Plan or the Sidewalk & Trails Master Plan?
Yes, all of these titles refer to the same planning effort. In 2024, the plan was retitled to Walk & Bike Plan in an effort to use a simple title that provides clarity on the primary focus of the plan, which is walking and biking infrastructure in Hudson.
Why do we have a Walk & Bike Plan?
The plan assists the City of Hudson with funding and planning future sidewalks within Hudson. It helps us coordinate connections to other regional trails and walkways in our area with the goal of continually improving safe and practical community-wide bicycle and pedestrian activity in the community.
Is there a direct fee or charge to the adjacent property owners for sidewalk work in the Walk & Bike Plan?
No. The sidewalk work and any other public capital incidental construction items on this project are budgeted within the City of Hudson’s Annual Budget.
Will I still receive packages, deliveries, and US Mail Service during construction?
Yes. The contractor will need to provide access to these services during the construction of the project. Except for when a driveway is being constructed, the owner should notify the City of any large deliveries one day in advance of delivery.
Will I still receive trash and recycling pickup service?
Yes. The Contractor will need to provide access to this service during the construction of the project.
Will my driveway access be disrupted?
The Contractor will provide advance notice of 24 hours for any driveway that will be out of service and non-accessible. The contractor will be required to provide a parking location for two vehicles for up to 10 hours of closing the driveway, at each property. If the driveway cannot be opened within 10 hours to vehicle traffic, the contractor shall provide parking for vehicles, but no longer than 24 hours.
Who do I call if I have an issue during construction?
The City will provide impacted residents with a 24-hour contact number for the contractor doing the work at the start of construction.
What if I have a private irrigation system or underground dog fence within the City right-of-way? Will I need to relocate it?
Yes. The City will send out a letter in advance of the project bidding to notify residents who will need to relocate their private irrigation and dog fences prior to construction.
