What's one transformative effort you'd like to see Hudson focus on in the next 10 years?

What is the Comprehensive Plan?

The City’s Comprehensive Plan is a guiding document, directed by residents and local stakeholders, that guides the community’s vision for the future. The Plan details a long-term vision and policy agenda for important issues in land use, housing, parks, infrastructure, transportation, and more. The Hudson City Charter requires a review and update of the Comprehensive Plan at least once every 10 years. It is important to start the process early. The last update took nearly three years to complete and was adopted by Council in January of 2016.

Planning Consultant

The City will begin work with a planning consultant in fall 2022 to perform extensive outreach to gather input from a variety of stakeholders (residents, business owners, developers, service providers, elected and appointed officials). Through this input, the goals and guiding principles of the Plan will be established. City Council interviewed five consultants who submitted proposals and ultimately selected OHM Advisors.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is comprised of 19 community representatives who will meet regularly to provide guidance on the overall direction of the plan. City Council selected 7 residents through the open application process (Council interviewed applicants and voted to determine selected applicants). Council chose an additional 7 residents through direct appointment (each Council Member appointed 1 resident of their choice). Council also appointed representatives from 5 City boards and commissions, bringing the total committee size to 19. The Committee will meet semi-regularly for about one year.

For the Steering Committee roster or for meeting agendas, minutes, and videos, visit the Steering Committee Meetings page.
