Project Update 10-31-2022

Construction of the Middleton Road and Stow Road sidewalk project has officially begun. The contractor (CATTS Construction) will begin having materials delivered to the site early this week and then will commence with underground storm work. The contractor is planning to begin the installation of the storm work near the golf course and work there way west towards S.R. 91 the first two weeks. All trash, mail and bus routes will run as scheduled. Residents should expect small traffic delays during the day.

Project Update 9/23/2022

The City has awarded Phase 1 of the sidewalk project to CATTS Construction. Phase 1 of the project will consist of work along Middleton Road between SR 91 and High Point Park and Stow Road between Middleton Road and Chamberlin Blvd. The project will consist of new concrete sidewalk, ADA curb ramps, lighting upgrades, storm improvements and road striping.

The project is expected to begin the week of September 26, 2022 and last approximately 210 days, finishing construction in June of 2023. Two way traffic, trash and mail will be maintained during all phases of the project.

The contractor is tentatively scheduled to remove the remainder of the trees, brush and stumps beginning the week of 9/26/2022, weather pending.

The City of Hudson is planning a new sidewalk project on Middleton Road from Valley View Road to High Point Park and on Stow Road from Middleton Road to the Twinsburg Township Corporate line. The project is being designed now and is scheduled to be constructed in 2022 - 2023. There will be no cost to homeowners for construction of these sidewalks.

I am on a corner lot with the city having an easement between my house and Stow Rd. The sidewalk will be installed along Stow, but my driveway is a little over 200 feet away from the new sidewalks location, there is no sidewalk running from Stow Rd to my drive. How am I expected to keep the sidewalk clear?

Mr Dude asked about 1 year ago

Thank you for your response. The question being asked is hard to follow and I’m asking for clarification on what you’re asking or what corner you live on?  It sounds like you may live off a side street and Stow Road fronts your property and you’re asking how you’ll clear the sidewalk?  If this sounds correct, residents are required to remove snow from sidewalk that front their properties per the City of Hudson Codified Ordinance.  Please feel free to reach back out with more questions.
